Keyless Entry Carrier Signal Detector
Use the Pico TA330 Keyless Entry Carrier Signal Detector to detect the presence of the keyless entry carrier frequency in the range 125-140 kHz (as used by most manufacturers).
The lead is 3-meters long.
The device has a short range by design, allowing you to check each pickup coil in turn and identify a faulty unit. It does not pick up or decode the high frequency secure information used to unlock the vehicle.
The Pico TA330 Keyless Entry Carrier Signal Detector can also be used to detect start systems. Most vehicles equipped with a smart entry will also have a keyless start system. Electrical key oscillators are positioned at various points throughout the vehicle to help detect when the key is in the car.
Electrical key oscillators can be pinpointed with the keyless entry detector lead by “sniffing” out the emitted radio waves. As with the electrical key antennae, the closer you are to the source, the greater the output. This process can also be used to check if the start/stop button is working correctly.
